Mahanama lift Premier trophy

Mahanama College lifted the Milo Premier knockout rugby title after defeating traditional rivals DS Senanayake College by 18 points to 14 in the final played at the Royal Sports Complex ground in Reid Avenue yesterday.

Mahanama started well and ran through DSS defences early on. After taking a comfortable 13-0 lead at the breather they were given some anxious moments by DSS in the second half who fought back well to restrict the strong Mahanama attach to just 5 more points. However Mahanama defended well and restricted DSS to 14 points collected through 2 goals in the second half. Mahanama collected their points through 3 tries and a drop goal.
